Well, you are right but I prefer standards that are not pushed by one commercial company. Flash is an Adobe thing only. Safari is WebKit based, a standard that is open and very sophisticated. Can Adobe make Flash open source and public ? I don't think so. That is why I don't care and more more don't care either looking at the trend toward HTML 5.0
Mmm sound right for a developer since a programmer or an IT addicted cares about open vs commercial, but if put yourself in the shoes of a standard user who doesn't even know the meaning of "open source", well the lack of flash will be matter....however it's good, pheraps this problem will be only matter of (short) time!

You are right, users don't give a damn about open source and stuff like that... On another note, I'm still thinking of how Apple would implement flash content inside safari.... the same way as YouTube or QuickTime videos embedded inside an HTML page...
