tools I've been away from my blog for a few weeks but I'm back and I want to share with you some of my discoveries that I've made.
AppFigures out of beta - and it rocks !
I registered to AppFigures (beta) a few months ago for free and I've fall in love with it. AppFigures went out of beta a few weeks ago and I must say that so far, the site functionality is very good for a 1.0 "product" and the team behind it is very professional. For those looking at tools to keep track of their application sales, this is really a good start. They promise to keep improving over time and they deliver. I'm anxious to try their iPhone app that is in development for now that should give access to the data from the iPhone. May be I'll be able to get rid of AppSales Mobile.
AppSales Mobile - development pending ?
Well, speaking of AppSales Mobile, it seems the development of this tool is kind of slow or stalled. The guy behind it moved the source code from Google Code (he sent me a twitter message about it!) and updated the application to stay compatible with the iTunes Connect improvements at the beginning of august.
Apple iPhone Development Portals / iTunes Connect improvements ?
On the Apple side, things are also moving slowly. Apple added a "tool" to help set the expectative about how long they will have to way in order for their application to get approved. It is OK but this tool should be put in the iTunes Connect / Manage Application not in the iPhone Dev Portal. That's it ! Small step for Apple but giant step for the developer-kind ! Oops, A big step for Apple but a small step for the developers... Oh well....
Sales of uP@ssw0rdz! - keep the faith !
My application sales are not as good as I would have like. But I keep improving the application nand I'm working of version 1.2 these days. I really think things will get better overtime as I plan to add a few major features. So, I keep the work and I keep the faith.
AppGiveaway.Com - no effect at all !
I've partitipated to AppGiveAway where I gave 30 promo codes. Did not get any more exposure. No reviews. No effect on sales. Na da.
Promodispenser.com
I've got an email from a guy announcing the Promodispenser.com site that seems to bit better in principle than AppGiveaway.com. I'm about to take a look into this one. The major point is to give promo code only to people that writes reviews of the applications.
PinchMedia
I've discovered that I can integrate quite easily into my application the PinchMedia monitoring tool. Why ? To get a feeling of what the users are doing with uP@ssw0rdz! (where they spend more time for example). My only wish would be for PinchMedia to release an iPhone application to get access to the stats (like Google Analytics).
Zune HD User Interface - seems to be pretty cool.
Just have a look here. I wish Apple would merge the Videos with the iPod application... among other things.
Apple iProd in OS 3.1 beta - the obvious
So according to rumors, Apple in preparing a new product in the iPhone - iPod touch landscape. My thoughts are simple on this thing:
- Bigger iPod touch, kind of the size of a Sony PSP;
- The name ? iPod touch HD (hey, Microsoft is about to come out with the Zune HD!);
- All the App Store content will be available to this device ! But new titles will have to be built in order to take advantage of the new features (higher resolution screen);
- Multitasking: since current apps will run, they should fit inside a frame, many open at once ! Think of it like many desk accessories opened on the desktop at once ! Now you have multitasking.
iTunes 9 rumors
- Bring on the iPhone home screen home arrangement please ! Meanwhile, have a look here.
- Bring Twitter and Facebook integration, that would be cool.
That is it ! (Nothing to do with the canceled MJ UK Shows - This is it ;-))
