How to be promoted by Apple, according to Apple

Today, when connecting to iTunes Connect, here is what I've been reading:

Mmmm.. Interesting. Let see if Apple follow their own guidelines. Mostly yes but here is a few findings of application being promoted on the Canadian App Store in a way or another (Staff Favourites, News and Noteworthy, What's hot).

I'm not sure these application icons are examples of excellence...
