The more I listen or read about the iPhone OS APIs, Cocoa programming and Objective-C, the more I feel this plateform, this iPhone OS plateform is maybe the most programmer friendly environment... So many people are saying that they we're not really programmer before starting to work on the iPhone... Sometime, it shows in the bad implementation of certain application though!
I need to have a web site, a blog beside my email addresses. What tools are available ? Which one should I use ?
I'm a MobileMe subscriber. I know about iWeb too. I love MobileBe and the iWeb application from Apple... but I need a computer with the software to do my updates... which is not always the case. There is a better way. What if I could just use the web to build my presence on the web! Here comes Google.
In 24 hours (part time!), I started my blog with blogspot, created a web site (still empty but working) with google sites, set up Google Analytics to know how popular I am on the web (I'm still pretty much invisible to the web world, for now). Finally, I'm using FeedBurner to known who will be reading my RSS feeds...
Pretty cool. Very happy. Cost me nothin!
Some things Apple could do to improve the AppStore:
- Allow trial versions of the software (time based expiration)
- Allow movies to demo the apps in action
- Allow people to mark an application that is interesting that we plan to buy
- Show related apps when viewing the application details page
- Look at Amazon to get more ideas on how to help users finds interesting apps in the store.
I'm really serious about becomnig an iPhone developer. Very serious. I'm starting to gather important pieces of informations.
Found this interesting article:
iPhone developer says 99 cent price point not sustainable.
Basically: quality content over too many bad features is the right way of doing it. Really.
